Can You Imagine Recording White Christmas Today? ‘Coz Bing Crosby Did

That is, we’re not talking about recording White Christmas in 2019. Rather, can you imagine getting into the groove to record such a record on 29 May?

That being one of the little secrets about all that holiday cheer. All the musicians, light makers and all the rest are doing their stuff now. That’s just how long it takes for everything to move through the logistics chain. In fact, if you’ve not already ordered your container of seasonal tchotchke from China then you’re probably too late.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]”White Christmas” is a 1942 Irving Berlin song reminiscing about an old-fashioned Christmas setting. The version sung by Bing Crosby is the world’s best-selling single with estimated sales in excess of 50 million copies worldwide.[1] When the figures for other versions of the song are added to Crosby’s, sales of the song exceed 100 million[/perfectpullquote]

Probably better to concentrate on the Irving Berlin songbook rather than the singer here: The Very Best of the Irving Berlin Songbook [Double CD]
