The Twisted Proof That The UK Is Europe’s Largest Market For Sex Slaves

The Telegraph tells us that the UK is shamed by being Europe’s biggest market for sex slaves:

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]UK shamed as Europe’s biggest market for sex slaves[/perfectpullquote]

Which is odd really. As we had a very large investigation into exactly this. Operation Pentameter used every police force investigating every sex for sale operation they knew of – and yes, coppers do know who is selling sex and where, Jeebus, even without bobbies on the beat they know that – and they found not one single person in the entire Kingdom they could successfully prosecute for sex slavery.

They found plenty of foreigners selling sex, even people who were in violation of immigration rules who were selling sex but that’s neither sex trafficking nor sex slavery.

What we actually find, elsewhere, is this:

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””] Many thousands of Romanian teenagers are being lured into debt bondage and exploitation by trafficking gangs whose nefarious network is spread all across Europe. Romanian anti-trafficking investigators claim that the UK has become Europe’s biggest market for sex slaves.
Girls as young as 10 or 11 are being “exported” throughout Europe, and are sometimes sold by their own parents in a near-medieval manner, claims Iana Matei, the founder of Reaching out Romania. [/perfectpullquote]

Which is rather different. For that’s not actually evidence of anything about the UK at all, it’s some bloke in Romania tellin’ us summat.

However, let us assume that it is in fact true and that what is being talked about is proper sex slavery. The repeated rape kind of thing. Unusual as it may seem that this exists – the punters would quickly dob the pimps in – let us just assume that it does.

In Germany and Spain, both countries of about equal size, prostitution is legal. As it is in the UK of course. But in Germany and Spain a brothel is legal, hell, they advertise and have loyalty cards – pay up 9 times and get the tenth free like Starbucks.

So, sex slavery is greater in the UK than in Germany or Spain? Better legalise those brothels then, eh?
