Katie Hill Blames Everyone Else And Revenge Porn

There’s a certain element of not being adult here from Katie Hill. She’s resigning from Congress which may or may not be something we should all regret. But the blame is being laid on everyone except Ms. Hill herself. Yet it does indeed seem to be Ms. Hill who was sleeping with three different people.

There are a number of possible responses to such revelations. Our own around here would be that my (our, hers, as you wish) sex life is none of anyone’s damn business other than the people willingly sharing the sex. Therefore say what you will about it it doesn’t matter. Another possible answer is that voters expect something different from their elected representatives, sorry, I’ll go.

It’s possible to think up other possible responses too. But this?

The congresswoman, who is involved in a divorce, announced her resignation on Sunday and followed up with the video statement in which she condemned “my abusive husband and the brutality of hateful political operatives”.

She continued: “This coordinated campaign carried out by the rightwing media and Republican opponents, enabling and perpetuating my husband’s abuse by providing him a platform, is disgusting and unforgivable and they will be held accountable.”

You’re 32 years old, an adult. Indulging in, quite obviously, adult activities. So, ‘fess up and act like an adult. Rather than blaming everyone else.

Come on Honey, you’re not a Clinton after all.

  • Her resignation isn't due to the fact that she's been sexually adventurous. It's because:

A - she's been involved with a member of her staff which is now specifically prohibited thanks to the poundemetoo movement

B - the sheer volume of photos (more probably to come) of her in sexual situations including a bong will cause a lot of voters to doubt her judgment

If all that were going on was a Congresswoman (especially a Democrat) who was having sex with 2 or 3 different people, this would blow over rather quickly.

As I typed this it struck me that it's difficult to avoid using words that induce a smirk.

  • Precisely right, Esteban; this is not about sex but about the failure of a politician to maintain her credibility.

Regarding a "coordinated campaign carried out by the rightwing media," surely Rep. Hill stood athwart the coordinated campaign, with the leftwing media, to impeach Trump and devise a bill of particulars later? I didn't think so. Sorry, Honey, partisan conspiracies are politics too.
