Serious Stupidity About Electricity And Renewables

Just consider this. Taste it, savour the flavour, then ponder on the gross idiocy necessary to think it a problem.

Why does the cheap form of electricity generation need subsidy?

  • Few liberals, environauts and dictators listen to their own words or read their own writings.

  • Subsidies are needed even on the cheap form of electricity because subsidies are paid out on other forms of electric generation. Even the lack of the heavy oil taxation on oil-powered generators - that we have to pay at the petrol pump because burning up oil is 'a bad thing' - can be seen as a subsidy.

Cut the massive subsidy to atomic power stations and wind generation can compete.

So long as these other polluting and dangerous forms of generation get subsidised, it makes sense to subsidise wind turbines. But even something cheap can't compete on a rigged economic field.

  • Subsidies are needed so the windmills have to be backed up by expensive imported foreign gas and oil.
