An investigation into the journalism of Polly Toynbee. A previous and critical analysis investigation into said accuracy. There was, back in the mists of time, a blog called “Factchecking Pollyanna”. A blog that simply looked at the assertions of Polly Toynbee, in her columns, and checked them. At the same time I was taking the mick out of Polly. This is simply a combination of both our efforts at correcting the wilder claims that Polly made.

I do not know who Factchecking is: Polly at least once has assumed that it was me, for she asked me to take the blog down, presumably on the grounds of embarrassment. It isn’t and it wasn’t. I’ve always hoped it was Alan Rusbridger but doubt it could be. Too much attention to fact and truth.

Readers will also find out how Polly once described me as a jewel, something precious and valuable to be kept near the heart. Or, as she might have meant, something close to a tit.
