Obviously the police should stop wasting time on the bullshit and get back to work. But of course that's what you're saying.
In some jurisdictions, if the shoplifter or mugger were to see the inside of a jail cell, the usual black-robed culprits would be eager to hear an argument to free him so as to avoid risk of COVID.
I am always pleased by the way the police prioritise what crimes they pursue.
