The Modern Definition Of Far Right Is Interesting, Isn’t It?

We’ll admit that we don’t know whether this Spanish political party, Vox, is far right or not. For all we know they could be donning blue shirts – or black footy bags – marching down the street and howling with lust to give Owen Jones a good dose of castor oil. We dunno. But what we do find interesting is what The Guardian tells us are markers of being far right.

We’d agree that, given that they’re centralists in Spain, they do belong on the more conservative side of politics on that specific issue.…

Should We Be Worried By The Rise Of Far Right Beliefs In Germany?

Apparently we should all be very worried by the rise of far right beliefs in Germany. Some significant portion of them are showing a less than welcoming attitude towards Muslim immigrants for example – how appalled should we be by this?

It’s certainly, and obviously, true that a certain eye has to be kept upon German attitudes concerning race and religion. There’s an historical background to the creation of the country which means it’s likely to always be something of a problem.…

Perhaps We Shouldn’t Crush Far Right Parties Like The BNP And EDL Then?

No, we’ve not lost our minds, we’re not recommending support for the fascist boot boys. But perhaps driving them from public and party politics isn’t all that good an idea? As The Guardian seems to be telling us:

Since 2011, Hope not Hate has published an annual State of Hate report. Since at least 2015 we have seen that the demise of the electoral far right in the UK has been giving way to something far more sinister, which is evolving from the embers of the two better-known far-right groups operating in the UK, the electorally dead and insignificant British National party (BNP) and the moribund EDL (which this week has been shaken by a paedophile scandal involving one of its leading members).
