Box Office – How To Train Your Dragon Still Tops Going Into The Weekend

Thursday's box office numbers are out - little change from earlier in the week. How To Train Your Dragon still leads, the 80th anniversary edition of Gone With The Wind comes up into the top 5. When the sudden appearance of female Light Fury coincides with the darkest threat their village has ever faced, Hiccup and Toothless must leave the only home they've known and journey to a hidden world thought only to exist in myth. As their true destines are revealed, dragon and rider will fight together-to the very ends of the Earth-to protect everything they've grown to treasure. Alita: Battle Angel Scoring a very not respectable 59% on the tomatometer Alita's plot is: From visionary filmmakers James Cameron (AVATAR) and Robert Rodriguez (SIN CITY), comes ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL, an epic adventure of hope and empowerment. When Alita (Rosa Salazar) awakens with no memory of who she is in a future world she does not recognize, she is taken in by Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate doctor who realizes that somewhere in this abandoned cyborg shell is the heart and soul of a young woman with an extraordinary past. As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious history while her street-smart new friend Hugo (Keean Johnson) offers instead to help trigger her memories. But it is only when the deadly and corrupt forces that run the city come after Alita that she discovers a clue to her past - she has unique fighting abilities that those in power will stop at nothing to control. If she can stay out of their grasp, she could be the key to saving her friends, her family and the world she's grown to love. Gone With The Wind has been released in an 80th anniversary edition which prompts a very good question: Gone With the Wind turns 80 - frankly is it still worth a damn? The answer is clearly going to be subjective. Scoring 92% on the tomatometer some certainly think so: Filmed and presented on a scale not seen in modern productions, Gone with the Wind is, if not the definitive Hollywood film, then certainly near the top of the list. As to why not the scale these days, actors were cheaper back then. As to the plot synopsis: A manipulative woman and a roguish man conduct a turbulent romance during the American Civil War and Reconstruction periods. That might not quite do the sweeping grandeur sufficient justice. Isn't It Romantic Starting out as a spoof of Rom Coms it becomes, yes, a Rom Com. New York City architect Natalie works hard to get noticed at her job but is more likely to be asked to deliver coffee and bagels than to design the city's next skyscraper. And if things weren't bad enough, Natalie, a lifelong cynic when it comes to love, has an encounter with a mugger that renders her unconscious, waking to discover that her life has suddenly become her worst nightmare -- a romantic comedy -- and she is the leading lady. The trailer: A less gushing synopsis: A young woman disenchanted with love mysteriously finds herself trapped inside a romantic comedy. 69% on the tomatometer Fighting With My Family It's possible that a wrestling biopic isn't quite to everyone's taste. FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY is a heartwarming comedy based on the incredible true story of WWE Superstar Paige(TM). Born into a tight-knit wrestling family, Paige and her brother Zak are ecstatic when they get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to try out for WWE. But when only Paige earns a spot in the competitive training program, she must leave her family and face this new, cut-throat world alone. Paige's journey pushes her to dig deep, fight for her family, and ultimately prove to the world that what makes her different is the very thing that can make her a star. Perhaps people do like it - 91% on the tomatometer.
