This is a most amusing little story from Amazon, they wanted to use AI to aid in hiring decisions and found that they weren’t getting much aid from it. Thus, of course, they stopped. An Italian professor, Alessandro Strumia, has upset large numbers of people by attempting to put forward a scientific explanation for gender outcomes in physics. Or, if you prefer, attempting to deny that there is gender discrimination against women in the field of physics. That latter perhaps, being what has caused the furore. For we all do know that there is gender discirmination in every field, don’t we?
