To do so is of course to fail that very first test of being in the business at all. This is entertainment folks. No, it’s not “comedy” nor female comedy nor speaking truth to power nor even changing the world through making people think. You’re in the entertainment business. The point of which is to get paying bums on seats. Achieve that and you’re doing fine, don’t and nothing else matters a damn.
You’re actually in one of the most viciously capitalist and free market businesses on the planet. You’ll understand a lot more about it, do much better in it, if you can bring yourself to grasp that basic fact.
