The termagants at The Guardian are finding it very difficult to work out why women would want to enter the Miss England contest. For clearly it is the combination of career and the ability to identify intersectionality which determines the worth of a modern woman and all society recognises that. Meaning that the ability at both is what will attract anything it is that a woman wants whenever she wants it. Including that male partner to raise her children for her:
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]Why are more women than ever applying to be Miss England in the age of Instagram?[/perfectpullquote]Oh, seems that might not be true.
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]Despite widespread derision of beauty pageants – and the potential to become a model or influencer through social media – applications have risen to 20,000, as aspiring contestants attempt to show a more modern side to the faded glamour contest[/perfectpullquote]Or, perhaps, there are 20,000 women out there who actually understand that we humans are a sexually dimorphic species. One in which the different sexes have slightly different successful reproduction strategies. One – one – that works for females being to display the signs of their fertility – the adipose tissue associated with oestrogen, the lack of facial and some other body parts hair, a nice smile to show off the health of the teeth – and see which bloke is willing to sign up for life to get them some of that.
Sure, it’s all a bit grubby but we’re descended from those who did this – both male and female in their respective roles. And the way evolution works is that what works, works, that’s pretty much the definition of the whole thing.
So, wish to win at this game called life? Have the kids that will produce grandkids? Then flaunt whatever you’ve got in order to gain the highest possible mate. Parlay your capital for his that is. Thus, if you’ve a nice pair and a decent smile flaunt both on the stage and pick your winner.
If you don’t of course there’s always that competition for the noodle armed to be had by talking about intersectionality.
Why do women wear make-up? Is it the patriarchy forcing them or to compete for a mate? Yep, it’s pure competition.
Why might a Graundianista columnist take affront at good looking young women? Losing that competition by any chance?
Yes, I know they are probably rug munchers, but I assume that diesel dykes go for lipstick lezzas.
Is it really all a bit grubby? Through these lenses it looks rather clean and rather charming.
“If you don’t of course there’s always that competition for the noodle armed to be had by talking about intersectionality.” OK Tim, you get the weekend off.
