Another Blow For The Feminist We’re All Entirely Equal Demand

The phrase “separate but equal” has unfortunate overtones in our language, given the manner in which it was used in both South Africa and the Democratic South to justify racial discrimination. And yet it’s clearly a part of the solution to whatever it is the feminists are shrieking about this week. Men and women do indeed have their differences. It’s not purely a matter of different plumbing.

As we’ve noted just recently there’s a definite predisposition to more collective solutions among women than there is among men.…

Socialism Is For Women, Capitalism For Men – Remove The Female Vote Therefore

An interesting little survey from the United States showing that this idea of votes for women was a bad one. Or, to be a little less jocular about it, that there really are differences between men and women, on average and in general, and it’s not just the details of the plumbing arrangements.

Four in 10 Americans prefer socialism to capitalism, poll finds

That just shows that four in ten are either dim or ill informed.…

We All Know What Chick Flicks Are, Why Not An Italian Women’s Interest TV Channel?

The latest storm in an espresso cup from the more excitable of our Latin colleagues – the idea that Italian state TV might run two channels, one of men’s interest, one of women’s. This does seem rather sensible and it is in fact the way that cable channels have been working ever since there were cable channels. Tooltime Tim isn’t on there to get the housewives juiced up – no, not even at the thought of what their husbands will do for them once they get home – and QVC’s jewelry flash sales aren’t aimed at the male cis and hetero crowd.…

Is Women’s Rugby Actually The Same Game The Men Play?

OK, so women’s rugby is the new big thing. Among those who tell us what the next big thing should be at least.

Spectators know that women’s rugby isn’t actually the same game as male. But is there a rigorous method of testing this?

There might be.

The injury rate is going to be a measure of two things. How close to the tolerance line fitness levels are and also, with how much brio – violence if you prefer – the game is being played.…

This Was Always Going To Happen – Solely Male Draft Is Unconstitutional

One of the advantages of having a written constitution is that there’s a process to solve conflicts between different pieces of law. Even, there’s a process that flags up such conflicts and forces resolution. So it is with this idea of a military draft in the United States.

Not, of course, that there is a draft currently. But the possibility still exists there in law, there is the requirement still for all male youths to register so as to be available for it.…

Gillette’s Toxic Masculinity – Have These People Ever Met Any Human Beings?

It’s possible to wonder whether those masticating over the Gillette Toxic Masculinity ad have ever met any actual human beings. Or have any idea of how the varied – and agreed – problems with them can best be managed. The ad itself is called “We Believe: The Best Men Can Be” and what the hell, it’s an ad about selling consumer goods. That ad being:

Well, OK,more power to their elbow and hope they sell lots of razor blades.…

Oxford’s Equality Step – Women Only Fellowships Are Obviously Discriminatory

Oxford University has had to scrap a women only fellowship – obviously so as a women only post is just as discriminatory as a men only one. And no, English law does not allow discrimination in this generation in order to make up for nor appease that in earlier. That’s not how the system works.

So, yes, this is the right decision:

Women-only Oxford fellowship hit by equality law

Well, no, it’s not been hit.…

Men More Likely To Be Killed By Friends Or Partners Than Women

We’ve the annual complaint that women are being killed in droves by men – killed by their partners and isn’t this a gross indictment of a patriarchal society and no doubt it’s capitalism to blame. And the reality here is that men are more likely to be killed by a friend or partner than women are. So, perhaps the dolour should be to the other side? Or even that indictment of capitalism and patriarchy?

And the thing is, even though we’re never told this, this is in fact true too.…

So Why Was Women’s Pension Age Lower?

We’ve what I consider a quite extraordinary claim here, that raising women’s pension age to match that of men is discrimination against women. Really, can’t see it myself, equality isn’t discrimination. But that is the claim being made in court. The court says it’s arguable enough that they can continue to argue it to the next stage:

Older women were unfairly discriminated against by a £5 billion Treasury reform that increased the female pension age from 60 to 66, a court was told.

Annals Of Stupidity – Gender Pay Gap Is Really 51% Edition

Given that women who do the same job as men, in the same company as their male brethren, earn within 1% of what the men do, we might think that we’ve solved the gender pay gap. Because people doing the same job in the same place get the same pay. As this reality – and legal requirement – has sunk in we’ve had ever greater stretches to find something to whine about.

This is as with poverty of course.…
